There's also some solid stealthy gameplay to back up all the eviscerations. However, don't take this to mean that Manhunt 2 doesn't deserve its M rating: There's plenty of gore, sex, and adult language to go around. It's visually less grisly than the original Manhunt: The much-ballyhooed blurring added to the most extreme acts often makes it difficult to see exactly what bloodthirsty rages you're subjecting your victims to-particularly in the Wii version. It's not as shocking as you'd expect, but Manhunt 2 still satisfies your primal instincts. Unfortunately, hiding in the shadows is no longer a sure way to safety, and gamers may find themselves engaging in a quick mini-game in order to avoid detection if enemies catch them moving around in the darkness. As in the previous release, gamers can follow targets silently and activate more impressive kill animations by waiting for the cursor to turn from white to red. Players learn how to move and kill while escaping from the asylum. Gamers lead Daniel through several different locations to discover his previous life while sneaking past enemies and using objects in the environment to defeat any aggressors. After an electrical storm knocks the power out at the asylum and the prisoners take control, Daniel leaves the institution to uncover the mysteries of his past and why he can't remember anything about himself. Six years later, Daniel still shares his space with the criminally insane and wonders if his previous life existed at all. Unfortunately for Daniel, the experiments on his body go wrong and he is sent to spend the rest of his life in Dixmore Asylum. To keep his well-paying job and satisfy the needs of his wife and two children, Daniel becomes a guinea pig for underground research after the funding is pulled for Project Pickman. Featuring several gameplay upgrades and an all-new story, Manhunt 2 is the tale of a young doctor named Daniel Lam.An onscreen radar means that you'll always be able to tell where your enemies are, so you won't have to rely on hearing them coming. You'll miss out on most of the incidental dialogue, but get the story delivered in subtitles. If you're a fan of the first, it's worth a try, but be forewarned, there's nothing as good as the Piggsy fight to be found anywhere on the disc.ĭeaf and Hard of Hearing gamers should be okay. There's a much wider variety of kills, but none of them are actually visible. ![]() The story is a great improvement over the first, but the voice acting is a small step down. Parents, are you seriously considering buying this for your children under the age of 17? Seriously? You know that this is the sequel to the only PS2/Xbox game to feature full frontal male nudity, right? And that it's themed around dangerous brain surgery that turns regular people into psychopathic killers? And that the game moves to such memorable locales as a snuff club, porno theatre, and adult video store? And if all that hasn't dissuaded you from buying this for your children, feel free to call your local police department and turn yourself in for child endangerment right now.įans of the first Manhunt will find this game the ultimate mixed bag. ![]()
